Opera leaves the conventional theatre. Voice, costume, dramatic light and an electronic orchestra unfold beside Titan’s dark methane sea.
Titan is the only moon with a thick atmosphere — denser than Earth’s — and seas of liquid methane and ethane. Kraken Mare is the largest of them. Dense air would carry voices well, yet more slowly than on Earth: a stage for grand, unhurried drama.
Opera and the electronic orchestra: the human voice and orchestral writing meet synthesizers, sound processing and spatial audio to tell large stories.
How a single voice carries a story, and how electronics extend the colours of the orchestra.
